What is WESTEC?
WESTEC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational cooperative offering short
and long-term training programs in a wide variety of subject areas. We
partner with local community colleges to fund our programs and provide
students college credit upon completion of classes.* WESTEC has been in
continuous operation since 1982.
Diverse Program Offerings
Whether you are an individual sent to us by an employment agency, or you
are one of our many large business clients sending huge teams of
employees for training, our solutions can meet your unique needs. And
these programs and services have close integration with standards and
practices you already know and use every day, like California and
Federal OSHA standards, and the PASSPORT Petroleum orientation.
*College credit varies and is not offered for all classes.
CAMPUS SECURITY CLASS FORMING FOR MAY!! A campus security class is forming for May. The dates for this training have been set: Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 and Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12.
You can reserve your seat starting today through the end of April. The cost for this course is $110.00. In order to reserve your seat, please stop by our office and leave a non-refundable $50.00 deposit. This deposit will be applied towards the cost of the course. PASSPORT TRAINING SCHEDULE. Passport training will now be offered Monday through Saturday. We will offer a class in the morning at 8am and another class at 12 noon. Please call our office at (661) 387-1055.
By the end of the course, a successful student will be able to:
1. Describe the inherent hazards of driving a motor vehicle;
2. Practice techniques to anticipate and avoid the hazards normally encountered while
driving on public roadways;
3. Perform a daily inspection of a motor vehicle;
4. Eliminate illogical or inappropriate decisions which may result in collisions.
