WESTEC is a Non-profit educational cooperative, contracting with community colleges to provide quality training in the area of corrections and peace officer standards and training. Most of the training is offered to the general public as well as the corrections and law enforcement communities at community college rates.

ABOUT THE OFFICER ACADEMY
The adult corrections officer core course is a formal, structured, job-related training program, approved by the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation-Corrections Standards Authority, for professional personnel entering one of three key, local corrections departments. The core course is introductory training, to be completed within the first year of employment or prior to employment. It is a critical part of the overall requirements to reach journey-level status.
