IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR POSITION, RESUMES MUST BE TURNED IN IN PERSON
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, dictate a variety of materials at various speeds to steno machine speed building students based on curriculum and lesson plans.
MUST HAVE EXTENSIVE VOCABULARY
MUST HAVE AN ELITE UNDERSTANDING OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school.
Partial List of Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic procedures and methods of court reporting preferred; knowledge of computer programs dealing with spreadsheets and word processing. The ability to read aloud with correct pronunciation while using a stopwatch.
Demonstrated ability to dictate clearly and distinctively at a variety of dictation speeds; ability to accurately time dictated material; ability to operate a stopwatch; ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Skill in managing a classroom and ability to focus on lesson plan without distraction; ability to control the classroom setting with diplomacy and tact.
Starting pay subject to Program Manager’s discretion. This position has a flexible schedule with no benefits other than those mandated by law.

Our next beginning Theory class (Summer Semester) will begin on Monday, June 5, 2017. The Summer Theory class is scheduled to run approximately 3 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, starting at 8:10 AM.
